Dinner Supervisor / Host / Hostess

Karakter is looking for a passionated, shining Dinner Supervisor.

As a Supervisor, you are the host or hostess and the central point of contact for our guests. You carry overall responsibility for operations during your shift and ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Your responsibilities include:

• Being the welcoming face and main point of contact for our guests
• Leading and coordinating colleagues (bar and service team)
• Maintaining clear communication with the kitchen
• Ensuring every guest leaves satisfied
• Handling and resolving guest complaints
• Managing and reconciling the cash register
• Overseeing closing procedures

You will actively participate on the floor, working alongside your team to create an exceptional guest experience at Karakter/Koraal. You set the standard for hospitality, both for guests and colleagues.

You are responsible for the entire service during your shift, including the bar, beach/pool service, and coordination with the kitchen.

You lead by example, think proactively, contribute ideas, and consistently go beyond what is expected.

In case of malfunctions, technical issues, or team conflicts, you resolve them where possible or escalate them to management when needed.

You are also responsible for training new team members during your shift and contribute to evaluating whether they are a good fit within the Karakter/Koraal team.

You maintain regular contact with management to discuss ongoing matters, receive support, and develop new ideas to further enhance service quality. On occasion, the sous-chef or head chef may join these discussions.
